West Africa!

What!?!!
Hello Friends, Family, Fans and Foes! I arrived safely in Lome Togo last night at 7:30 GMT. Unfortunately, my clothes did not! Ack! The next plane comes on Saturday, so until then (hopefully) I must wear my travel clothes. Good thing I wore a shirt and tie - because I am at the US Embassy waiting to meet the Ambassador (which is a big deal around these parts).

My apartment is nice. My nextdoor neighbor is the American Fulbright Scholar and literally right across the (dirt road) street is ENA (one of the schools I am going to work in). Apparently, most (if not all) of my classes are cancelled until after the elections - October 14. So... I am glad I brought a book.

Okay. That's what I got. If you want to send me mail but nothing that would get me in trouble - here is my adress:

US EMBASSY
Kevin Brown
attn: Jean K. Togbe
B.P. 852 Lome, Togo

Well, it's no longer Togo, its Togone. Glad to hear you are there. Give the ambassador my regards.
