Friday night, we were invited to the Jacks house for dinner. Many were invited and since it was late (and Lome has little electriticty or infrastructure) we decided to take a cab. 1000 CFA for 2 people... = $2.16. When the cab stopped in front of the house and noticed there were no guests. "Man, we gotta start coming a little later" I suggested. We go to the door. "Is this Chez Jacques?"
"Oui." replied the guard.
We wait in a patio area and joked a bit until the guard invites us in. Inside, we are escorted to a Togolese man's bedroom who is half dressed - half awake. Uhh... Sorry. Wrong Jack.
Today, I start the fim series at the University of Lome. Today's topic: Homelessness. Film: the Pursuit of Happyness.
