The Coast of Dar

On Christmas day we jumped on a ferry and headed toward the Republic of Zanzibar. These photos are of the coast of Dar es Salaam - taken from the Indian Ocean.

The Streets of Dar

I spent the first couple of days of the big push stumbling on the paved streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - searching for the meaning of bacon and learning salutations in Swahili. Jambo!

"Babylon is Everywhere"

A good friend commented, "Babylon is everywhere," when I posted a photo of Al Donald's Fast Food restaraunt. I didn't really understand the comment (even when I took this photo) until I spent three days on a beach in Ghana with a large group of West African Rastafarians.

I took this photo in the streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
