RAMADAN

Yesterday was declared the official end of Ramadan here in Togo (not so for our neighbors to the East - Today is)... that makes it a government holiday and many businesses were closed. Since it was a alast minute decision, I knew that many of my non-muslim friends had no plans - so I invited the Public Affairs Section (PAS) to my house for an afternoon get together.

Thanks to the Peace Corps book titled "Where There is No Whopper" I got the recipe for making pizza dough. It was the first time I have ever made pizza dough from scratch but it came out alright - one of the pizzas came out almost like cake but whatever. So, PAS came by and we shared pizza and cokes and stories from last years voodoo festival. They all teased me because I had wanted to see that guy walk on water. Apparently he's not on the schedule for this years event. oh well.

Tonight I start my class at the American School. pictures to come.
