Southern Mali

Since I last left you, we spent an entire day traveling into southern Mali (about 90k) mostly siting on the side of a dirt road waiting for the bush taxi to be fixed.  Spent the night on a roof in Bankass, Southern Mali until it started raining and then took a horse cart into Dogon Country where we spent three spectacular days hiking through the cliffs of Dogon Country.  We explored 2300 year old cliff dwellings, scaled the sides of cliffs like the one in the  back of the photo, ate couscous and rice and of course my ankle never healed (haha!)

After three days of amazing southern Mali, we spent another 2 full days traveling back to Togo including bush taxis, horse carts and a 20+ hour 70 person bus ride from Ouagadougou to Lome.  Special thanks to Bertram the ELF posted in Ouaga for letting us crash in your spare bedroom.  Still not sure when i fly back to the states but will let you know as soon as I find out.
