While sources have yet to confirm, the former drummer and guitarist/vocalist are said to be making plans to attend the popular restaurant/nightclub Regents in Lome, Togo on Sunday June 8, and may play a few songs with one of Lome's hottest jazz bands.

In other Lome music news... King Mensah and the Seeds will share the stage at the tonight at 17:30 for a free concert to benefit persons living with HIV/AIDS at the Palais du Congres.

The King and I

The evening was set. 12 of us purchased our tickets to see King Mensah at 5:30. The show was to start at 8. We arrived at 8:30 because music concerts never start on time. 9:30 found us sitting on the steps in front of the coliseum - the power in the entire square had been cut. By eleven we were back in our seats - getting restless.

Then comes some sort of raffle. I didn't quite understand - but I thought I had a chance to win a motorcycle. At the encouragement of my friends... yep - I'm on stage at the King Mesah concert, in front of 4000+ fans. The moment I uttered my first phrase in Ewe - the crowd went wild. Ha! It was so much fun. No motorcycle, but I did win a hat and a t-shirt.

Midnight... no King Mensah - so we left and went to see live music at the local digs.
