you can probably get the keyboard plastic top area replaced as well as the plastic around the monitor. All the mac books made before 2009 were made with a brittle plastic that cracks and they have been recalled. Apple will replace these faulty plastic parts for free... makes your laptop like brand new!
I got a new (2001) MacBook last night! Sure , the delete button is missing and the battery dies rapidly... but that's what makes it perfect!
