Saturday, we went to Aneho which is on the border of Togo and Benin for a Voodoo festival that was mostly rained out. Hmmm.... Anyway, the King of Mineh spoke to us about Christianity versus Voodoo for about 2 1/2 hours. In French. I sat patiently waiting for the end of the "conference" beacuse the agenda stated that a man would walk on water afterwards to prove the strength of Voodoo. I was pumped. The speach ended and the Voodoo drums began to beat and I was so excited to see a guy try to walk on water. I even bet a beer on the whole ordeal! In the end, I was escorted out of the sandy tent and told to go home. Come back next year. It's too late. Too much rain.. blah blah.
Later that night, I went to a beer festival. For 12000 FCFA's we were admitted to a well lit parking lot with pretty tables, a buffett and FREE GUINNESS (how ya like that, trash!) So we began to drink and drink and I announced to the table that I bought a Vespa. Ah Yeah. It's Turquoise. One of the members of the table promptly announced, "How about a pool on when Kevin is going to die!" I heard a taker or two. I said, "Sure... I got my money on 30 years." I don't know why I pciked 30 years. A fairly abritrary number. The table quickly changed the topic, but I've been thinking about it ever since.
I don't think I am going to die, but if I do - I wonder if the Voodoo man would come walk on water at my funeral? I figure he owes me at least that.
If I do die... I wouldn't want to go without telling you --- I love you.

"Pretty tables, a buffett and FREE GUINNESS" doesn't sound very third world to me. If you die, I get the scoot.
