I spent the first couple of days of the big push stumbling on the paved streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - searching for the meaning of bacon and learning salutations in Swahili. Jambo!
A good friend commented, "Babylon is everywhere," when I posted a photo of Al Donald's Fast Food restaraunt. I didn't really understand the comment (even when I took this photo) until I spent three days on a beach in Ghana with a large group of West African Rastafarians. The whole thing has been very exciting (and exhausting) Merry Christmas and Happy NewYear! I'll post some photos when i get back to Lome.
