The Republic of Zanzibar is an island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Technically, part of Tanzania - Zanzibar requires all visitors to the island to check in at customs and you even get a really cool stamp in your passport.I took this photo from a rooftop in Stonetown, Zanzibar on Christmas day. No bats - but beautiful nonetheless.
